ICT Group has years of experience within the infrastructure sector. Both at the preliminary stage of large infrastructure projects and within the development and automation of IT and OT environments. We combine our knowledge and skills from the Energy, Water and Infra markets to create innovative solutions.
Physical Twin
The infrastructure market is on the eve of a huge renovation assignment of tunnels, bridges and locks. This task is challenging on several aspects such as the number of objects, the limited execution capacity in the market, the impact on users and the disruption to (shipping) traffic during the renovation.
By applying the Physical Twin, ICT Group wants to show market parties how to tackle this renovation assignment. The Physical Twin is the showcase in which we show that the entire system integration around the technical part of a bridge/lock combination can be designed, realised and tested, without having to work within an object's stoppage period.
We do this by combining the following areas of expertise:
- Reusable software architecture;
- Separation of functional and technical control;
- An ICT proprietary SCADA package;
- Digital Twin;
- Physical Twin.
Physical Twin, Digital Twin and HoloNXT
In order to minimise an asset’s availability, we simulate it with a Digital Twin. However, this means that the software environment does not include the 3D experience in which the asset functions. We resolve this by adding the HoloLens and our HoloNXT platform, which visualises the situation. As a result, you have the experience as if you were really opening a bridge from a control room at the push of a button, for example. Digital Twin and HoloLens, used independently or in combination with Physical Twin, allows us to test the software at an early stage, thus increasing quality and reducing development time.
