Supply Chain Collaboration: Deceptively Simple and Unexpectedly Powerful

The pandemic, geopolitical developments, labor shortages, and increasing sustainability requirements have had a huge impact on both global and local value chains. To tackle these challenges, a new vision of integrated business operations is absolutely essential. In this context, 'supply chain collaboration' is the magic word. It sounds great, but unfortunately, supply chain collaboration often seems much easier in theory than it is in practice; in fact, a paradigm shift is necessary. This presentation will explore the why, how, and what of supply chain collaboration and what it means in practice.

Optimizing Logistics Planning at Krëfel

Krëfel has implemented the Supply Chain Portal from ICT Logistics to optimize logistics planning. The system provides better control over the reception process at the DC in Humbeek, helping to avoid peak loads in the warehouse. Suppliers can reserve time slots, and the system calculates the required time to unload, ensuring a more predictable process. By integrating with the ERP system, administrative errors are also reduced. The portal makes collaboration within the supply chain transparent and efficient, benefiting both Krëfel and our suppliers.

Dynamics in International Container Transport

Since Covid, the international container transport system has been almost constantly confronted with significant incidents and events. How the sector responds to these events, and how successful it is in coping with them, provides valuable insights into the resilience of the industry (or lack thereof). For companies operating internationally and relying on global goods flows, this is crucial for designing a robust supply chain. At the end of the presentation, we will look ahead to the events currently having a major impact on the world of international trade and transport.

Prof. Dr. Albert W. Veenstra, Professor of Trade and Logistics at the Rotterdam School of Management, Program Manager at Erasmus UPT

Yvette

Robotics in E-fulfilment at Kruidvat

Yvette shares the story behind Kruidvat’s decision to implement robotics in its e-fulfilment process. She dives into the challenges and complexities involved in deploying an advanced "robot goods-to-person" system at the e-commerce distribution center in Ede. Her session offers valuable insights for anyone involved in automation, logistics, and change management within distribution environments.

The digital solution for building resilient and reliable logistics chains: the Basic Data Infrastructure.

Logistics is changing rapidly—more than ever before. The resilience of supply chains and the reliability of deliveries are top priorities. The need for fast data exchange is growing by the day. The Digital Infrastructure for Logistics program accelerates digital business in the logistics sector. Its key focus is the development and adoption of the BDI: the Basic Data Infrastructure. This is a digital framework of agreements that enables logistics chain partners to exchange data in a trusted, efficient, and secure manner.

With the Basic Data Infrastructure, your data starts working for you. You gain faster access to up-to-date, high-quality information, making it easier to plan ahead in the logistics process. As a result, you can make better decisions every day. This keynote explains how that works in practice.
