ProRail signs agreement with ICT Group

The TTI monitors, operates and controls all electrical and mechanical installations in a railway tunnel that are necessary to guarantee the availability and safety of these tunnels. ProRail used three lots for the tender based on the TTI technologies from Rockwell, Siemens and ABB used in the tunnels.  ICT Group is a certified System and Service Integrator of control and operating systems of all three system suppliers.

The approach used is based on risk-based management and maintenance. By implementing preventive and corrective measures, the risk of malfunctions and the duration of failures are limited. In addition to the preventive maintenance of the systems, the preventive measures also include cybersecurity management and life-cycle management. This guarantees the continuity and functionality of the TTI. If, despite all the measures, a disruption occurs, a service team is ready 24/7 to resolve it as quickly as possible.

Roel de Backer, director of the ICT Industry and Infrastructure division: "With more than 45 years of experience in the design, realisation, management and maintenance of business-critical systems, ICT has the right expertise as a supplier-independent integrator to implement this contract as a service partner of ProRail."

The contract has a duration of 8 years. During this period, the BTTI of the 4 HSL rail tunnels can also be added to the contract. According to Michiel Berkheij, manager of Civil Engineering and Utilities, the conclusion of the contract is a great step: "We are already familiar with ICT from somewhat smaller individual tunnel contracts and have enjoyed working together there in recent years. We  look forward to further expanding this cooperation in the coming years in the management of the TTI of our entire tunnel area."
