Siemens, ICT Group and Vlaar Techniek, part of Facta, have officially formalised their strategic partnership for the replacement of the existing TMX master stations and the development of a new, future-proof SCADA platform for the Dutch water sector. The solution is based on Siemens WinCC OA and forms the basis for further standardisation and digitalisation within the industry.

With the official signing of the cooperation agreement, we mark the start of an intensive collaboration. The strategic choice of Het Waterschapshuis for Siemens and its partners forms the basis for the replacement of the existing TMX master station software and the management of the associated hardware. In addition, the parties are jointly developing a new generation of master station software based on the Siemens WinCC OA SCADA platform.

Future-proof and standardised platform

The collaboration focuses on the realisation of a robust and future-proof SCADA platform that will serve as a standard for six Dutch water authorities, with the possibility of being applied by more water authorities in the future.

The deployment of Siemens WinCC OA not only meets the current functional and technical requirements, but also lays a foundation for further digitalisation, standardisation and innovation within the Dutch water sector.

Additional expertise

The strength of the collaboration lies in the combination of knowledge, experience and responsibilities. Siemens is acting as the technology provider and is responsible for the new master station software. ICT Group is responsible for developing and integrating the software environment, as well as managing and maintaining both the new master station software to be developed and the existing TMX master station installations. Vlaar Techniek brings its expertise in hardware and substations and is responsible for managing the existing TMX hardware.

Partnership officially formalised

The partnership was officially formalised with the signing of the contracts by Martine Heuf on behalf of Siemens Netherlands, Guido van Dinther and Stefan Malee on behalf of ICT Group, and Jeffrey Schoordijk on behalf of Vlaar Techniek.

With this endorsement we express our confidence in a sustainable, open and results-oriented collaboration. Together, we are realising a robust SCADA solution that responds to the challenges of today and tomorrow and contributes to a future-proof digital infrastructure for the Dutch water sector.
