Recap of Smart Industry Summit 2025

The afternoon began with a keynote by Christian Kromme. In his presentation, he guided the audience through the impact of technology and AI on the industry. This was followed by various breakout sessions hosted by companies from the sector.

• OCI demonstrated how they intelligently connect data, energy, and manpower within their production process.
• TenneT offered a glimpse into their innovative 2 GW program and the role of automation in the energy transition.
• SkyNRG presented their transition from trader to producer and how they are working on building a sustainable aviation fuel plant.
• NS showed how they use an MES system to enable smarter rail management, contributing to reliable and efficient train operations.
• Cosun shared how they leverage digitalization to translate strategic goals into concrete and measurable improvements on the work floor.
• Cool Planet Technologies presented their approach to large-scale CO₂ reduction through innovative and scalable carbon capture solutions.

These sessions, filled with real-world examples, created an inspiring program that perfectly aligned with current challenges. The afternoon concluded with a keynote by colleagues John Koot and Leendert Mijnders. They demonstrated how AI is becoming a gamechanger for the industry of tomorrow. In addition to the content-driven sessions, there was plenty of room for networking and interaction. The breaks and networking moments offered attendees the opportunity to engage in conversation with experts.
