ICT Group secures long term contract with Delfland Water Authority
- 27 March 2026
The process automation of the water management system plays a crucial role in the remote control and monitoring of water assets such as pumping stations and weirs. This ensures that water levels in the polders are maintained at the required levels. The new system will provide additional functionality that better aligns with current requirements and user needs, including expanded capabilities for integrated operation and control of both existing and new water assets.
Further development of the water management system
The objective of the project is to future proof the process automation of the water management system so that it can evolve in line with the ambitions of the Delfland Water Authority. Performance and availability will remain safeguarded, while users are better supported in their daily operations.
The main drivers for the new Water Management System are:
- Further standardisation of process automation, reducing the number of systems and improving manageability and maintainability
- Implementation of a new operational control strategy
- New functional requirements that have emerged since the original system was commissioned approximately fifteen years ago
- Continued implementation of CSIR measures to strengthen cybersecurity and ensure compliance with current legislation and regulations
Pieter Jansen, Secretary Director of the Delfland Water Authority, said: “With this renewal, we are preparing our infrastructure for the future and creating a safe and reliable environment. We will continue to safeguard performance and availability, while ensuring the system better meets the needs of its users. Thanks to our long standing collaboration with ICT Group, we are confident that together we are well prepared for what lies ahead.”
Scope of the contract
The scope includes both modifications to the existing process automation system and new maintenance agreements. ICT Group will be responsible for the realisation and implementation of the new system. This will be followed by a nine year period of management and maintenance for a fixed annual fee, with the option to extend this period three times by two years.
Guido van Dinther, Business Unit Manager Water, Infrastructure and Energy at ICT Group, added: “We are proud to continue our long standing partnership with the Delfland Water Authority and to further apply our expertise in process automation to future proof the water management system. This contract is a strong confirmation of the solid relationship we have built over the past fifteen years.”
