To gain control over travel information, GVB decided to set up one central source for travel information. InTraffic won the tender and went to work for GVB. The Single Point of Truth (SPOT) system has now been delivered, and InTraffic is working on its further development.
The result: a single system for up-to-date GVB travel information
One system that collects all current travel information from GVB and transfers it to a management system in its own region, but also to CROW-NDOV, OpenOv, 9292, DRIS (Dynamic Travel Information Systems) and even Twitter. The system was developed with Java open source products in which the OSGi service platform was chosen to dynamically manage remote applications. With this, travelers in Amsterdam always have access to up-to-date travel information to plan their trip in advance or along the way.
InTraffic's contribution
Based on GVB's requirements, we set to work on building a new system. Essential in this assignment is not only the general technical knowledge within InTraffic, but also our knowledge of DRIS systems, BISON standards and the travel information chain. We went through the entire development cycle with this assignment, from the initial advice to making the system operational for GVB. After the development phase, InTraffic takes over the management of the system for the first two years, and thus also becomes responsible for the management, maintenance and further development of the SPOT application.
